VIETNAM SURVIVAL KIT

After being a foreign student at ITIMS in ninety-six,

I composed for Vietnam-survival, the following mix.

First thing necessary is a language guide,

otherwise communication is a rough ride.

Also bring your negotiation skills,

or you have to pay very high bills.

Cookies and fruit are a good deal,

if you are invited over for a meal.

Be flexable with your time,

because schedules may not rhyme.

Bring pictures with you as well,

when Vietnamese words don’t ring a bell.

Come with an open mind,

and people will be very kind.

Use candles when the power goes out,

so you are no longer in doubt.

Bring with you this Vietnam Survival Kit,

and you’ll discover a wonderful country bit by bit
