 15th VIETNAM SCHOOL OF PHYSICS, Donghoi, 20-31 July 2009
Rencontres du Vietnam and Institute of Physics, Hanoi, in cooprration with Quang-Binh University, Donghoi, will organize 15th Vietnam School of Physics (VSOP) in Donghoi, Quangbinh province, from 20-31 July 2009.
The deadline of registration is 22 June 2009 (Monday) .

The 15th Vietnam School of Physics (VSOP) will be organized in Dong-Hoi (Quang Binh province) from 20 – 31 July 2009 by Rencontres du Vietnam and Institute of Physics, Hanoi, in cooperation with Quang-Binh University, Dong Hoi.

The school is partly supported by the APCTP (Pohang, Korea) and the Abdus Salam ICTP (Trieste, Italy) as external activities.

Scientific program

The school scientific program will contain lectures and accompanying sessions for discussion/exercises (or tutorial sessions) lead by the following invited speakers:
Particle physics (theoretical)

    * Gautam Bhattacharyya (Saha Inst. Nucl. Phys., Koltaka, India):
      Introduction to Standard model and beyond.
    * Cyril Hugonie (LPTA, Univ. Montpellier, Montpellier):
      SUSY and phenomenological SUSY models: MSSM and NMSMM.
    * Pham Quang Hung (Univ. Virginia):
      The physics of TeV right-handed neutrinos.

Particle physics (experimental)

    * Maarten Boonekamp (CEA, Saclay):
      Experimenal confirmation of the Standard Model: 1970 – 2010.
    * George Hou (Nat. Taiwan Univ., Taipei):
      Topical lecture: Implications of the new Belle results.
    * Masaharu Nomachi (Osaka Univ., Osaka):
      Double beta decay and neutrino physics.
    * Vu Anh Tuan (Bonn Univ., Bonn & CERN, Geneva):
      The Higgs boson and the ATLAS detector.

Astrophysics & Cosmology

    * Paolo Gondolo (Utah Univ.):
      Dark matter (from the astrophysics point of view). (to be specified).
    * Sang Pyo Kim (Kunsan Nat. Univ., Kunsan & APCTP, Pohang):
      Inflationary Universe and Dark Energy.

As in previous VSOP’s, a number of mini-seminar sessions where participants can give short (20 min.) talks on the topics of their choice will be also organized. The registration and the schedule of these talks will be done during the school at a time defined later.
