2. Research Interests: 

- Focus on various piezoelectric MEMS devices, concentrates on piezoelectric micro-diaphragms and micro-cantilevers for micro-fluidic pumps and micro-biosensors applications. These devices are based on the epitaxial- and texture Pb(Zr,Ti)O3 and Ba(Sr,Ti)O3 thin films, fabricated on Si wafers using large-area pulse laser deposition (PLD) and sol-gel techniques.

- The growth, structure and ferroelectric-piezoelectric properties of the multiferroics thin-films; like BiFeO3, Pb(Zr,Ti)O3/La(Sr,Mn)O3, Pb(Zr,Ti)O3/CoFeO3; are also studied.

BIOGRAPHY Dr. Minh Duc Nguyen

Minh Duc Nguyen was born in 1977 in Hatay province, Vietnam. He started his studies on the chemistry (1995-1999). After his master in Materials Science (2001), he received in 2010 his PhD in Physics from the University of Twente, The Netherlands for his dissertation on Ferroelectric and Piezoelectric properties of epitaxial PZT films and devices on silicon, under supervision of Prof. Dr. Dave H. A. Blank and Prof. Dr. Guus Rijnders.

His current research is on piezoelectric MEMS devices, concentrates on piezoelectric micro-diaphragms and micro-cantilevers for micro-fluidic pumps and micro-biosensors applications. These devices are based on the epitaxial- and texture Pb(ZrxTi1-x)O3 & Ba(Sr,Ti)O3 thin films. The growth, structure and ferroelectric-piezoelectric properties of the multiferroics thin-films, like BiFeO3 and Pb(ZrxTi1-x)O3/LaSr0.67Mn0.33O3, are also studied.
